Phones connect people to the world. An update about the news, text from friends or an email from work; phones provide insights into everything. With Catchpoint’s new mobile app, users can stay connected to Catchpoint for insights on their applications.
The app is now available on the Apple AppStore at no cost to active subscribers of Catchpoint.
The mobile app includes the following capabilities:

The mobile app keeps you updated on the performance of your synthetic tests and gives you access to key data. With PUSH notifications enabled; you can quickly view important details to determine the severity of an issue.
With PUSH notifications, you can now receive an alert on your phone the moment it is triggered. You will also have access to the list of all alerts.
With the mobile app; all the alerts are listed in a meaning full way. The alerts are displayed in a chronological order and grouped by test. All the alerts for the test are collapsed into a single item, with the latest alert always on top. This gives you a clear picture if the alert is still triggering or has improved.
For each alert item, the app also displays the duration of the alert; i.e. how long as the test been triggering an alert.
Alert details are like the alert email showing a summary of the trigger, node details, and a scatter plot.
Users can select a test to see all alerts in a single screen. The scatter plot shows show the performance test with all the alert triggers. You can choose an alert trigger on the scatter plot or from the alert selector to view the node summary.
The Synthetic Overview is consistent with the portal. It gives you the ability to order your tests by availability (default) or test time. Each test shows the latest test time, availability, and its performance over the last 24 hours.
On the iPad, the app allows you to zoom out to show more tests and group them by Product or Folder.
Test details on the mobile app defaults to a Smartboard. The mobile app Smartboard is similar to the portal giving you a familiar user experience. Smartboards allow users to highlight critical information and identify performance issues.
Users can gain insight to test performance without examining data with the Spotlight feature. Catchpoint automatically scans the test data and applies issue detection and clustering algorithms to identify issues by geography and duration. When looking at trending data, the Spotlight overlay will tag relevant findings for that time frame. For example, the image below downtime detected from London is displayed in the Spotlight.
The Smartboard is logically grouped, guiding the user to consume the data in pieces. It starts with a high-level summary with a scatter plot or a line chart of the test performance. It then follows up with the key metrics including DNS resolution time, network timings, and downloaded bytes from the test.
The data is displayed as charts, graphs or spark-lines allowing users to interpret data easily and quickly.
Impact tables are intended to show the attributes most likely to be causing a change that the user is investigating. Impact is calculated as the sum of all values for a certain dimension over the sum of all values of that dimension.
For example, the impact for Los Angeles on a given metric is defined as the sum of the metric across all page views from Los Angeles divided by the sum of the metric for all page views from all cities.
